Hello! I’m excited to start another year teaching Language Arts at Athlos Leadership Academy. When I’m not teaching, I enjoy playing pretty much every sport, especially wiffleball. I even built a stadium in my backyard! This summer I tried getting up on a water ski upside down and backwards. It didn’t work, and I got a bunch of water up my nose. I graduated from Saint John’s University with a degree in Education. I look forward to being in communication with you!

MCA Cell Phone Policy
Per state requirements, students are unable to have access to their cell phones or wearable technology at any time during MCA or MTAS testing or during breaks from MCA or MTAS testing. In the event that a student has access to a cell phone or wearable technology during testing, the student’s test is required to be invalidated, even if the student did not use the device. Wearable technology includes but is not limited to smart watches and fitness trackers.
On dates when your student is scheduled to take MCA or MTAS assessments, your student will check in their phone and/or device with me on the morning of testing. I will collect the phone/device, put it in a labeled Ziploc bag and keep it in a locked cupboard until the end of testing for the day, at which time I will return the phone/device to your student.
Free Dress Day 2-21-23 (World Fair)
Tomorrow will be a free dress day due to the World Fair.

Instructions on how to pay for the field trip are attached. Page 2 should be the most help.
Tree Parade Decorations
If you have any extra holiday ornaments that you're willing to part with, please send them to school by Friday, so students can decorate their homeroom teacher!

Tomorrow's the last day to sign up for summer school. Here's the link:
Phone Policy Reminder
This is just a reminder that students may not use personal cell phones on the school property.
Cell phones will be confiscated if they are used on the school property. Confiscated phones will be locked up and returned on the Friday of that week. If a phone is confiscated on a Friday, the phone will be returned on the following Monday.

Reading MCA Test 3-14-22
A reminder that 7th graders will be taking their reading MCA tests starting tomorrow. Cell phones and smart watches will be collected before testing, and returned by the end of the day.
