About Me

Welcome! This is my fourth year at Athlos Leadership Academy and I am excited to be teaching third grade again this year! We will be working hard on our foundational reading and math skills, working independently, and how to be helpful community members.
 
When I'm not at school, I enjoy spending time with my family. We have a 2 year old son named Ben and a dog named Maddie. We love playing at the park and cooking! I graduated from Augustana University in Sioux Falls, SD and have worked in a variety of schools over the years. I love teaching and I can't wait to spend the year with you!

Happy Spring Break!

Spring break is 3/24-3/28.
A spring break packet is going home on 3/21 as well as iXL launch cards. 
Rest and read over break, we have the MCA Reading Test on Tuesday, April 1.

MCA Phone/Technology Announcement

Reading MCA: April 1-2

Math MCA: April 16-18

Per state requirements, students are unable to have access to their cell phones, personal devices, fitness trackers, or wearable technology at any time during MCA, MTAS, or Alt MCA testing or during testing breaks. In the event that a student has access to a cell phone, personal device, or wearable technology during testing, the student’s test is required to be invalidated, even if the student did not use the device. Wearable technology includes but is not limited to smart watches, smart glasses, and fitness trackers.

On dates when your student is scheduled to take the MCA, MTAS or Alt MCA assessments, your student will check in their phone, device, and wearable technology with me on the morning of testing. I will collect the phone/device/wearable technology, put it in a labeled Ziploc bag and keep it in a locked cupboard until the end of testing for the day, at which time I will return the phone/device/wearable technology to your student.

Homework went home today (Feb 14th) in case you would like to start on it over the weekend.

Spelling word list: orange, porch, furniture, bridge, jacket, culture, capture, imaginary, courage, postage, catch, checkers, stretch, judge, large, arrange, and nature.
 
We will be having a small Valentine's celebration on Friday. Students are welcome to bring valentines for the class.  A pink letter was sent home on Thursday with more information. We have 25 students in our classroom.
