Week of Nov. 18
Week of November 18, 2024
Here is a snapshot of our week ahead:
Math:
This week in math we will begin a new unit. This week we are going to be looking at a variety of strategies to help with adding and subtracting larger numbers. We will have homework each night.
Language Arts:
We will continue reading a variety of folktales and fables and discussing them. We are also going to keep working with past tense and irregular verbs as well as similes. We will be focusing a lot this week on how to sequence a story and how to find the central message or moral of the stories we read.
We are finished with spelling for the trimester. We will begin spelling words and tests again once we start our new trimester later this month.
Science:
This week in science we are going to begin our weather unit. To start out, we will be looking at how water affects weather and we’ll briefly go over the water cycle.
Social Studies:
We will start a new chapter this week. This chapter is about native people in our country and the explorers who came and settled here.
